For Grace #2

I started working on this series of paintings after having watched the documentary “For Grace” about the Chicago chef Curtis Duffy. A truly compelling movie. Although he experienced a horrific tragedy in his youth that may have permanently traumatised him, he made it his quest to open and operate the restaurant of his dreams called “Grace”. Now he has 3 Michelin stars! An amazing achievement. It inspired me to paint a new series to show that, although your background is (very) unsteady and raw (like the backgrounds of my paintings), you still can achieve a thing of beauty.
